After 5pm WWYN 106.9 FM will be broadcasting live from the Fun Farm and West Tennessee Idol contest winner, Kimberlie Helton, will also be performing!
With a powerful voice full of bluesy, soulful influence, Helton found herself struggling to fit into the classic country scene. Wanting to stay true to her own style, she has since found her niche performing what country music artist, Joanna Cotten, calls "Funkabilly!" Helton has performed in a cover band singing crowd favorites such as "Sweet Child of Mine," "Purple Rain," and "Hard to Handle." She has also worked with W.S. Holland, the last standing member of the Johnny Cash band, as June Carter Cash in the Johnny Cash Tribute Show. Helton, who has been on stages across the south for many years, is now performing at festivals and fairs representing WWYN 106.9FM as the 2009 West Tennessee Idol. Her first single to get radio airtime on WWYN 106.9 is "Nobody Gets Me This Way" cowritten with Jonathan King of Medina, TN. Admission: Admission to the park covers the cost of the events of the day. Ticket prices are $10/person for adults, $7.50/person for youth 2 to 12 years. Chidren under 2 yrs are free with a paying adult.
